Solar repairs on any brand, whoever installed it

Our licensed electricians find and fix faults on solar and battery systems of any brand across Adelaide and the Sunshine Coast, from inverter error codes to low output.

Solar systems fail quietly. An inverter shows an error code nobody reads, a panel cracks, an isolator lets water in, and the bill creeps back up over a few months before anyone notices. By the time you ring, the system may have been doing nothing for a while.

We repair and service solar and battery systems of any brand, whoever installed them. That covers inverter faults and error codes, inverter replacement, damaged panels, low output, isolator and wiring faults, monitoring problems, annual servicing and insurance inspections with a written report. Our own licensed electricians do the work. No subcontracted crews.

The first step is a site visit. An electrician tests the system, reads the inverter log and checks the switchboard, then puts the fault, the fix and the price in writing before any repair starts. The quote is free and there is no travel charge anywhere in our service area.

Any brand, any installer

We repair and service solar and battery systems of every brand, including systems whose original installer is no longer around.

A proper fault test

An electrician tests the panels, inverter, isolators and wiring and reads the inverter log, rather than guessing from the error code.

A written quote first

You get the fault, the fix and the price in writing before any repair starts. Quotes are free and there is no travel charge.

Our own licensed electricians

The electrician who diagnoses the fault is one of ours, licensed in SA and QLD, not a subcontractor.

Warranty on the work

Our workmanship is warranted, and any replacement inverter, panel or part we fit carries the manufacturer's own product warranty.

Servicing and inspections

Annual services, insurance inspections and written reports, so a system keeps producing and an insurer gets the paperwork it needs.

How a solar repair runs

You call or send an enquiry and tell us what you are seeing: an error code, a red light, a monitoring app that has gone quiet, or a bill that has jumped. If the system was installed by someone else, that is fine. We fix any brand.

An electrician comes out and tests the system properly. That means reading the inverter log, checking the DC and AC isolators, testing the strings, looking at the switchboard and, where it is needed, getting on the roof. Error codes point in a direction, but they rarely tell the whole story, so we do not quote from the code alone.

You then get a written quote with the fault, the fix and the price. Once you say yes, our electricians do the repair, test the system again, confirm it is producing and get the monitoring back up so you can see it for yourself.

The faults we see most

  • Inverter faults and error codes. The most common call. Some are a loose connection or a grid-voltage setting. Others mean the inverter has reached the end of its life. We tell you which, and if it needs replacing we quote a new one sized to your panels.
  • Low output. The system runs but the numbers are down. Causes range from shading and dirt to a failed string, a bypass diode or a tired inverter. We measure each string rather than guess.
  • Damaged panels. Cracked glass, hot spots or water in the junction box. We replace the panel and check the rest of the string while we are up there.
  • Isolator and wiring faults. Rooftop DC isolators that have let water in need replacing, not patching. We swap them and check the cable runs and connectors.
  • Monitoring problems. Often the inverter has simply dropped off the Wi-Fi. If a Sungrow inverter has lost its Wi-Fi you may be able to fix it yourself with our guide. If not, we can.
  • Battery faults. Batteries that will not charge, will not discharge or show a fault on the app. We service the brands we install and others.

We also do annual servicing, which is a full electrical test of the system with a written report at the end, and insurance inspections and reports when a system has been damaged. If you are weighing up whether a service is worth it, our solar maintenance guide covers what an annual check involves.

Why have us look at it

Solar repair is electrical work, and we are electricians first. The business has installed more than 4,000 solar and battery systems since 2017, so when a fault comes up on a roof in Adelaide or on the Sunshine Coast, the chances are we have seen it before. SA electrical licence 287733, QLD electrical contractor licence 1512582.

We are certified installers for Sungrow, Sigenergy and Tesla Powerwall, and we also fit GoodWe inverters and batteries. That matters when the fix is a replacement: a new inverter is designed to your existing panels, not pulled off a shelf. Our Google rating sits at 4.9 from more than 530 reviews, and SunWiz named us Best Rated Solar Installer Overall in its 2025 awards.

If the system is old enough that repairs no longer make sense, we say so. Sometimes the right answer is a new solar system, or a replacement inverter that is ready for a battery later. We give you the options and the prices and let you choose.

Repairs and the rest of the house

A repair visit often turns up something else: a switchboard without safety switches, an old board that needs upgrading before a new inverter goes in, or a circuit that was never right. The same electricians handle that electrical work, usually on the same visit. You can see the repair jobs we have finished, with what was wrong and what we did, on our projects page.

There is no travel charge and no cost for the quote anywhere in our service area. Call 1800 610 165 between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday and tell us what the inverter is showing.

Solar repair questions, answered

Straight answers from our electricians. Can’t find yours? Call 1800 610 165 or book the assessment and ask on the day.

My inverter is showing an error code. What should I do?

Note the code and the time it appeared, then check the monitoring app for how long output has been down. Some codes clear themselves after a grid dip. If it stays, or keeps coming back, call us with the inverter brand and the code. That tells our electrician what to bring. We test the system on site rather than quoting a fix from the code alone.

You didn't install my system. Will you still repair it?

Yes. We repair and service solar and battery systems of any brand, whoever installed them, and a good share of our repair work is on systems whose original installer has closed or stopped answering the phone. Bring whatever paperwork you have, but it is not a problem if there is none. The electrician works it out from the system in front of them.

How do I know if my solar is producing less than it should?

The quickest check is the monitoring app or the inverter screen, compared with the same month last year. A bigger power bill with no change in how you live is the other giveaway. If the numbers are down, we measure each string of panels on the roof and test the inverter to find where the loss is, then quote the fix.

Is it worth repairing an old inverter or should I replace it?

It depends on the age, the fault and whether parts are still available. A loose connection on a five-year-old inverter is worth fixing. A failed board on one that is out of warranty and no longer supported usually is not. We quote both options where both exist and tell you which we would choose if it were our roof.

What does a solar service include and how often should I get one?

A service is a full electrical test of the system: panels, strings, isolators, cabling, inverter and switchboard, with connections checked and a written report at the end. Once a year is the usual interval, and the first service on a system that has never been checked tends to find the most. Insurance inspections follow the same process with the report written for the insurer.

Do you charge a call-out fee for solar repairs?

There is no travel charge and no cost for the quote anywhere in our service area, in Adelaide or on the Sunshine Coast. You get the fault, the fix and the price in writing before any repair work starts, and you decide from there. Call the office between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday to book an electrician.
