Heat Pump Hot Water Installation in Meridan Plains, QLD
A 270 L Evoheat heat pump hot water system on a paved pad, with an induction freestanding cooker and rangehood wired on a dedicated circuit.
Diagnostics, inverter replacement, warranty claims, annual servicing - all brands, SAA-accredited, fast callouts.
Plenty of solar on Coast roofs was put up by someone who is no longer around to fix it. That is no problem: our electricians work on any brand and any installer’s system, from our Corbould Park office, QLD electrical contractor licence 1512582. Noosa, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Bribie Island, Caboolture and North Brisbane are all in range. Deionno has been trading since 2017.
Rather than guessing over the phone, we send an electrician out for a free assessment, up to an hour, to test the system and tell you straight whether it needs a repair, a part or nothing. No travel charge anywhere on the Coast, and the quote is free. Solar repairs on the Sunshine Coast start there: 1800 610 165. For the routine side, our solar maintenance guide covers the annual check.
We repair and service solar systems across the Sunshine Coast, regardless of who installed yours. Inverter replacement, isolator failures, panel issues, battery diagnostics, warranty claim management and annual servicing – same crew that handles new installs handles your repair.

Solar systems fail in a small number of predictable ways. Understanding what’s actually broken helps you decide between a $400 fix and a $4,000 upgrade.
| Symptom | Common cause | Typical fix |
| No generation, inverter red light | Failed DC isolator (most common rooftop fault) | Replace isolator, restart inverter ($380–$580) |
| Inverter shows ground/earth fault | Wet connector, damaged MC4, rodent damage | Locate + repair connector, replace cable section ($350–$650) |
| Generation 20%+ below expected | Dirty panels, shading, panel underperformance, MPPT issue | Diagnose, clean, replace underperforming panel ($300–$1,200) |
| Inverter fan loud / runs constantly | End of inverter life (8–12 yrs) or thermal sensor | Inspect, often points to inverter replacement ($2,400–$4,800) |
| Random shutdowns / over-voltage trips | Grid voltage too high in your street | Set inverter voltage profile, escalate to Energex if persistent |
| No app data, system still generating | Wi-Fi / monitoring gateway failed | Reconfigure or replace dongle/gateway ($150–$450) |
| Battery not discharging | Firmware out of date, gateway misconfigured, BMS fault | Diagnose remotely first; on-site if needed ($220–$700) |
Rooftop DC isolators are the #1 failure point in Australian solar systems – they’re exposed to UV, rain, and temperature cycling for years. Australian Standard AS/NZS 5033 has been amended several times to address this; the 2021 version is the current target spec. If your system was installed before 2021 and has never had its isolators inspected, they’re due. Failed isolators can cause arc faults and roof fires – this is the single highest-priority maintenance item.
String inverter capacitors and cooling fans wear out. Most quality string inverters (Fronius, SMA, Sungrow) last 10–12 years; budget inverters often fail at 6–8. When the fan starts running constantly or noisily, you’re typically 6–18 months from a full failure – plan the replacement before it goes mid-summer.
Panels degrade ~0.5%/yr by design. A 10-year-old system should be making ~95% of its day-one output. If yours is making 70%, that’s a fault – most commonly one shaded or dead panel pulling down a string. Diagnosis takes 30 minutes with the right tools. We do this before recommending anything else.

Most repair callouts present three paths. The right choice depends on system age, fault type and what you want from the asset over the next 10 years. Here’s how we frame it.
Symptom: inverter making noise, app showing intermittent dropouts. System: 8 kW solar with a 6-year-old string inverter, no battery. Household planning an EV inside 2 years.
The right path depends on whether the household actually adds a battery inside 2–3 years. If yes, the upgrade is the cheapest lifetime option. If no, the repair or like-for-like replace can win. The framework is what matters – not a one-size answer.

Most Sunshine Coast homeowners discover the limits of their installer’s warranty support exactly when they need it. Either the installer has gone out of business, or they’ve moved on, or they’re too busy with new sales to handle a 4-year-old warranty claim. We handle warranty claims for systems we didn’t install – fee-based if it’s your old installer’s problem, no charge if we installed it.
Under the New Energy Tech Consumer Code, we’re obligated to act as your point of contact for systems we install. For systems we didn’t install, we offer the same support on a fee basis – typically $250–$450 to manage a claim end-to-end, far less than the cost of doing it yourself or paying a manufacturer to lose your paperwork.
Storm season runs November to March across the Sunshine Coast. Lightning strikes and severe wind events cause solar damage every year, and most homeowners’ insurance covers it – but you have to produce the right evidence inside the right timeframe.
Same-week callout (or sooner during declared storm events), full electrical and structural inspection, written report with photo evidence, quote against insurer’s standard format. Service plan customers get post-storm callouts at no extra charge during November–March.
Most insurance claims we handle conclude inside 4–6 weeks. The ones that drag are usually missing original install paperwork – which is why we keep a copy of every job we do for the asset’s life and we recommend other homeowners do the same.

A solar system isn’t fit-and-forget. Three things degrade over time: physical components (isolators, cables, mounting), performance (panel output, inverter efficiency) and compliance (standards change, your install paperwork should still match your current install).
Most newer installs (post-2020) need annual servicing every 12–18 months. Older installs (pre-2018) need every 12 months without fail – the components are simply more failure-prone and the standards have moved on.
Yearly visit, all the tests above, written report. Suits owners who want one visit per year and call us when something goes wrong.
Quarterly remote performance review + annual on-site inspection + priority callouts + post-storm callouts during storm season. Suits owners who want their system actively watched.
No plan, no retainer. Call us when you need us. You’re still our customer, still get our warranty support, just no priority queue.

Yes – this is roughly a third of our repair calls. We service all brands and we run warranty claims directly with the manufacturer on your behalf, regardless of who originally installed.
Response time depends on plan, urgency and current workload – service plan customers get priority. Safety issues (fire risk, no generation) get prioritised over routine work, regardless of plan. We’ll give you a realistic window when you call.
Yes – we provide the photo evidence, electrical test reports, quotes and root-cause analysis insurers ask for. We don’t deal with your insurer directly (that’s for you) but we give you everything in their preferred format.
Age is the first signal. Under 5 years old: nearly always repair. 5–8 years: depends on the fault. 8+ years: replacement is usually the better call. The other signal is whether the fault is mechanical (fan, capacitor, board) versus environmental (water ingress, lightning damage) – environmental damage on an old inverter is almost always replace.
Yes, for visible dust and bird mess. Use water and a soft brush from the ground if you can reach. Do not walk on the panels and do not use abrasive cleaners. Professional cleaning is $200–$350 for a typical residential system and worth it on hinterland properties with heavy pollen, salt or smoke exposure. For roof access, we recommend booking a professional clean – falls from height are the most common solar-related injury for homeowners.
A repair by an SAA-accredited installer using manufacturer-approved parts maintains the warranty. A DIY repair or a repair using non-approved parts voids it. We document every repair with photo and electrical evidence to preserve the warranty trail.
