Solar built around Barossa properties

Our own electricians design and install solar from Tanunda to Lyndoch, starting with a free on-site look at your roof and switchboard.

Barossa Valley solar is rarely a standard job. One address might be a stone cottage in Tanunda, the next a big shed outside Nuriootpa, and the next a rural block near Stockwell with a long run of cable back to the pole.

We are electrician-led, so the people who measure up your property are the same licensed team who install the system. They come from our Adelaide office at Salisbury Plain, and there is no travel charge anywhere in the Barossa.

The first step is a free 60-minute assessment on site. We check the roof, the switchboard and your supply, then design the system from your bills. Barossa Goldfields and Williamstown get the same visit as everywhere else.

What Barossa properties ask of a solar system

The Barossa is a mix of old villages, vineyard country and working farms, and the roofs follow. Stone cottages in the towns often wear tile or corrugated iron. Farm and winery buildings tend to have long, plain tin roofs with room for a big array. Where a roof is shaded, tired or facing the wrong way, a ground mount is worth a look.

Rural power shapes the design as much as the roof does. A property at the end of a long supply line can behave differently from a town house, and many larger sites run three phase. We check this at the assessment so the inverter and any export limit suit the supply you actually have. Where a site is far from the grid, off-grid and hybrid designs with a battery are on the table.

How a Barossa job runs

You get a free assessment, then a design and written quote built from your usage, not a package off a price list. Once you say yes, we handle the paperwork and the network connection. Our electricians install the system, test it and walk you through the monitoring at handover. Most homes are finished in a day, and bigger systems can take up to three.

Why choose us for Barossa solar

We have been installing since 2017 and we are certified for Sungrow, Sigenergy and Tesla Powerwall. The work is done by our own electricians and carries a 10-year workmanship warranty. Quotes are free and there is no travel charge, whether you are in Tanunda or out past Freeling.

If you want panels now and a battery later, we can lay the system out so the battery goes in cleanly when you are ready.

Barossa Valley solar questions, answered

Straight answers from our South Australia electricians. Can’t find yours? Call 1800 610 165 or book the assessment and ask on the day.

Can you put solar on a stone cottage with a tin or tile roof?

Yes. Tile, corrugated iron and flat sheet roofs are all routine for us. At the assessment we look at the roof’s condition, how it is framed and where panels can sit without strain. If one section of roof is not suited, we look at other faces or a ground mount before suggesting anything else.

Do I need three phase solar for a farm or winery?

Many larger rural sites run three phase, and we match the inverter to what you have. We check your supply and switchboard at the free assessment. If three phase would let you run heavy equipment or export better, we explain the options in plain terms before you decide anything.

How long does a solar install take on a rural property?

Most homes are finished in a day, and larger systems can take up to three. A shed array or a ground mount can run longer because of the cabling involved. We give you a timeframe with your quote, and the same electricians see the job through from first fix to handover.

Can solar run a property that has no mains connection?

Yes. An off-grid system pairs panels with a battery sized to your loads, and some owners add a generator for long cloudy spells. It is designed differently from a grid-connected system, so we start with a list of what you run and when. Ask us about it at the free assessment.
