EV Charger Installation with Long Cable Run in Mallala, SA
A customer-supplied EV charger on about 50 metres of 10 mm2 AC cabling from the main switchboard, on a rural property with a shed and carport.
We do switchboard upgrades, EV charger installs and long cable runs for rural homes, sheds and small businesses across Yorke Peninsula.
Rural electrical jobs are rarely small. A shed can be a long way from the house, a workshop can need three phase and the main board may have been added to for decades. Our licensed electricians sort these out, starting with a free on-site assessment where we look at the supply, the board and the runs involved.
We work in Mallala, Balaklava, Two Wells, Port Wakefield and Ardrossan, and at the townships and farms around them, travelling from our Adelaide office at Salisbury Plain. There is no travel charge in the service area, and a quote costs nothing.
A licensed electrician measures your roof and your bill. No phone quotes.
Rural electrical work is different from suburban work. Sheds and workshops sit a long way from the house, farm equipment can draw a lot of power, and a main board that has been added to over many years may be due for an upgrade. Coastal holiday homes have their own needs, from safety switches to wiring that sits unused for months.
On a long cable run, voltage drops if the cable is too small, so we size the cable to the distance and the load. We plan the route, the conduit and the protection at each end before we order anything.
We run supply to sheds and workshops, fit sub-boards with safety switches and wire lights, power points and larger equipment. We install EV chargers on rural properties, and a charger you have already bought is fine. For heavier loads we can look at a three phase upgrade, which involves your network provider as well as the wiring.
We look at the job on site, because distance and ground conditions decide the price more than anything on a plan. The free 60-minute assessment covers the board, the supply and the route. Then we quote, free, with no travel charge anywhere in the service area. Our own licensed electricians do the work, and it carries a 10-year warranty on workmanship.
If you are after an electrician on Yorke Peninsula, in Balaklava, Two Wells or out on the land, book the assessment and we will plan the visit from Salisbury Plain.

Long runs lose voltage if the cable is too small, so we size the cable to the distance and the load, not just the breaker. We work out the route, the depth and the conduit, then fit protection at both ends. We talk through the options and the cost on site before anything is ordered.
Yes. We run supply from the main board to the shed, fit a sub-board with safety switches and wire lights, power points and larger equipment. Distance decides the cable size and ground conditions decide how it is laid, so we look at both on site before quoting. A solar-ready shed board is easy to include at the same time.
We can work through it. A three phase upgrade involves your network provider as well as the wiring, so it can take longer than a simple board job. We assess your board and supply, handle the electrical side and tell you what to expect. Three phase is worth considering if you run large motors or a big solar and battery system.
Yes. We install chargers on rural properties, including the cabling from the board to wherever you park. If you have already bought a charger, we can usually install that. Otherwise we fit units from Sigenergy, Tesla and GoodWe. We check the supply and board first so the charger does not overload the property.
