A Murray Bridge business wanted a big solar system, a battery and protection when the grid drops out. That is what went in.
The array is 66 LONGi Solar Hi-MO X10 Explorer panels at 475 W each, 31.35 kW in total, on a cream tin roof across more than one roof face. A 30 kW GoodWe ESA GW30K-ETA-G20 inverter goes with it. Two GoodWe GW8.3-BAT-D-G20 batteries add 16.64 kWh, 16 kWh usable.
Blackout protection meant an external switchboard. The internal chassis board was already up to standard. The battery cabinet is wall mounted on the building next to the new board, with white bollards protecting it. An air conditioning unit was moved to make room for the battery and inverter. We also supplied and installed 72 m of bird mesh, and a scissor lift was allowed for the work.
Surplus solar charges the batteries, so there is power after hours.
