There was already solar on this Yaroomba roof, run through a Solax inverter, and the brief was to add a battery without replacing it. So the Solax stayed, and we AC coupled the new GoodWe system to it.
Two GoodWe GW8.3-BAT-D-G20 batteries make up the storage, 16.64 kWh in total and 16 kWh usable. They sit next to the Solax with a 5 kW GoodWe ESA inverter. The batteries needed a concrete pad, and the job included a shale grey powder-coated cover for the inverter and battery.
In the photos the battery stands on a concrete plinth on the grass against a grey rendered wall. An isolator sits beside it, a vent box sits above it, and the inverter has its own box on the wall.
The existing solar carries on working as before, and its surplus now has somewhere to go.
