Across it went 24 LONGi Hi-MO X10 Explorer panels at 475 W each, 11.4 kW in total, wired back to a 10 kW GoodWe ESA hybrid inverter. Three GoodWe GW8.3 battery modules sit on the brick wall under the covered walkway, 8 kWh usable apiece and 24 kWh usable together. The main switchboard needed an upgrade before any of this could be signed off, so we rebuilt it with Type A RCBOs on every circuit and wired the whole house for backup at the same time.
When the grid drops out, the house keeps going. On an ordinary day the panels carry the load and refill the batteries for the evening. Nothing fancy, just the right gear fitted properly.
