Twenty-two AIKO Solar Neostar 480 W panels on a terracotta tile roof make a 10.56 kW system for this Newport home. The inverter is a Sigenergy SigenStor EC 8.0 SP, single phase and rated at 8.8 kW, which can add backup.
We ran a 10 mm AC cable, rewired the hot water into the Sigenergy Smart Port, and fitted a single phase Sigenergy Gateway with a house backup allowance. That backup applies to the battery only, and it needs Type A RCBOs or RCDs to be present at the switchboard. The gateway sets the home up for battery backup through outages.
